Introduction:
The Certified Internet Webmaster (CIW) line of certifications is administered by Trinity Learning who just merged with the previous owners Prosoft Training. CIW certs are mainly focused on internet job roles such as webmaster, developer, web design, etc. The exams are vendor neutral and industry recognized.
Editor's Notes:
During the recession, Prosoft Training had a difficult time financially. In 2004, Prosoft Training Merged with Trinity Learning and I have no idea as to how this will affect their certification program, although it seems reasonable to believe there might be changes so proceed with caution. You might also want to note that in the past, the only preparation products that were available were from Prosoft. There are now a few 3rd party books and products available for some of the exams, but most of the training and products available are still from Prosoft.

| CIW Associate |
The CIW Associate certification can be accomplished by passing the CIW Foundations exam. Another option is to pass CompTIA's i-Net+ exam and pay a fee to get credit for this one. This exam covers basic internet knowledge.

| CIW Professional |
The CIW Professional certification is acquired by becoming a CIW Associate and passing 1 additional exam from a list of 8 available.

| CIW Security Analyst |
To achieve this certification, you must pass the CIW Security Professional exam and posses a 3rd party network admin certification such as an MCSE, CNA, CCNE, etc. More details are available at the link provided.

| CIW Web Developer |
The CIW Web Developer is achieved by passing 1 exam. Another option is to pass IBM exam 154 and pay a fee to be granted this cert.

| Master CIW Designer |
This certification is achieved by passing 3 exams.
|
| Master CIW Administrator |
This cert requires the passing of 4 exams. For candidates who possess Microsoft or Novell certifications, there is an i-Accelerate program to this certification. More information is available from the link in the Official Resources section below.
